What size fittings does this unit have?
The iHeat S12 tankless water heater uses 1/2” connections on both the inlet and outlet.
What electrical specifications are required for this unit?
The iHeat S12 tankless water heater draws 54 amps, thus requiring a Double Pole 60amp breaker, and 6/2 wire (6 gauge).
How many bathrooms can this unit provide water for?
The iHeat S12 tankless water heater has 12KW of heating power, which can provide hot water for up to 1.5 baths in warm climates, or suitable for a hand sink or small applications in moderate/cold climates.
How often do you change the filter?
We typically recommend changing the sediment filter by season - so approximately 4 times a year. However, this can change depending on the quality of your incoming water, as well as the frequency of your water usage. Every 3 months or so, check your sediment filter. If it appears dirty, you may consider changing it out. If it still appears to be clean, you may decide to wait another month or so.
How to install a tankless water heater what kind of piping do you recommend? Copper or cpvc? Thanks in advance for your assistance
When installing a tankless water heater, both copper or CPVC can be used. However, some ordinances may require you to use 12-18 inches of copper on both sides stemming from the unit. The specifics of what your local regulations require may vary, so you should inquire with your local officials or ordinances before proceeding.
How do I reset the thermostat?
The iHeat S12 tankless water heater does not have an external thermostat to "reset". In order to change the temperature of the unit, simply use the digital reading on the screen of the front panel, and using the up and down arrows, adjust the temperature to your liking. Keep in mind, in order to get a temperature reading, and to adjust the temperature, the unit must be on with water flowing through it.
Does this unit come with a warranty?
All iHeat brand water heaters feature a 3-year warranty on all electrical components, as well as a 5-year warranty against any internal leaking components of the unit.
