What applications is this unit best used for?
The Stiebel Eltron DHC 8-2 tankless water heater serves best when used as a point-of-use unit for smaller applications such as a boat, RV, or small condo. With 7.2KW of heating power, this unit will adequately heat up to two sinks or faucets. These are typically installed under a sink, or near the demand location.
i would like to install one of these units because it takes 65 seconds to get hot water to the kitchen sink.are there any units that i can feed with the hot water line so that after 65 seconds the unit would shut off. I would like a unit that i can use a 2 pole 30 Amp or less.
I understand. You have a 65 second lag time. My suggestion is get a point of use heater right under the sink. DO NOT use the heater in series with your existing heater as the point of use heater will not shut off once the hot water arrives from your larger unit. Just cap off the hot water line at the L-stop under the sink and your problem is solved. Please fell free to contact us for further details on how to get this done properly. 305-823-6991.
